Deputy Fire Chief Cedric Peterson has been with the department for over 28 years. He started with the department in December 1980 as a firefighter and has held all of the position ranks within this department. Even though he is still a young man, He is considered as one of the old guys in this department. He was promoted to the Deputy Chief position in October 1989. On January of 1993 He was promoted to be the interim fire chief until a chief was selected in June of 1993. In 1989 He restructured the fire department training program to be in line with ISO.
He over sees operations of 3 Stations which consist of 2 Engines Company, 1 Ladder Company, and a light rescue unit. Staffing per shift is 15.
Certified as a State of Florida Life Safety Inspector I. He is a member of the NFPA Florida Fire
He is married and has two sons with one providing us with a granddaughter.
